About CHC Maryland

Our Mission: To unite caring donors in the workplace with our nation's most trusted health charities.

Community Health Charities of Maryland is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit federation of more than 100 national, statewide, regional and local health organizations. Our agencies have an enormous impact on your health and that of your loved ones, families, friends and the community by:

Providing hands-on health care programs, services and support.
Providing education and training to health professionals and the general public.
Engaging in medical research.

CHCMD conducts workplace payroll deduction campaigns to help provide the funds necessary for its member organizations to continue their individual efforts to improve health.

CHCMD encourages you to tell us which member health organization(s) should receive your donation. Designating to your preferred organization(s) allows you to have a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of your loved ones, families, friends and community.

Financial Accountability

Community Health Charities of America is one of the most cost-effective non-profit organizations in the country, with Administrative and Fund Raising (AFR) expenses at just 2.2%. Sharing the same commitment to keeping operational expenses as low as possible, Community Health Charities of Maryland operates with an AFR of 2.0%. Our Local Member Charities

Community Health Charities of Maryland currently supports 49 local health charities, all of which are doing important work to improve the health and quality of life of those living in Maryland. CHCMD has a wide array of premier national and statewide charities, as well as a strong base of local, grassroots health organizations. All member agencies are reviewed annually for compliance with strict federal and CHC membership regulations.

Our Campaign Partners

The potential for growth is limitless as more employers realize the value of choice and make us part of their workplace giving campaigns. In cooperation with these employers, CHCMD raises more than $3.7 million annually for its members.

Health Matters at Work^TM is a comprehensive web and workplace-based health initiative to help businesses, employees and families prevent chronic disease and deal more effectively with the many issues associated with chronic health conditions.
